Eco-Landscaping is the environmentally friendly way to reduce yard maintenance and greenhouse gasses.

Some Eco-landscaping tips:

Xeriscape- Planting Native and Drought resistant plants and use Mulches. Xeriscaping reduces water and fertilizer usage. This also helps with disease and pest control.

Planting Evergreen shelterbelts on the north and west sides of your house blocks the cool wind, reducing the demand to heat your house.
Planting Deciduous trees on the south side of your house provides good shade in the summer and lets the sun in during winter.

Collect rainwater for watering plants, this way drinking water won't be used, cutting down on costs and emissions of treating water.

Regulate watering to eliminate evaporation and run-off. Watering in the morning reduces evaporation.

Mulching around plants reduces weeds, evaporation and protects plants in winter.
