West Coast Seeds Garden Huckleberry Solanum Seeds
It's a fruit for cooking and sweetening with a flavour reminiscent of blueberries. These work well in pies and preserves, but require the same sort of help that rhubard does. The compact bushes grow 60cm (24") tall.
Approx. 50 seeds
Timing: Start indoors mid_march to early April with bottom heat. Then grow seedlings on for 6-8 weeks at around 10°C (50°F). Optimal soil temperature for germination: 25-35°C (68-95°F). With bottom heat seeds should germinate in 7-14days.
Seeding: Sow seeds 5mm-1cm (1/4-1/2") deep. Keep seedlings under very bright light to prevent legginess.
Growing: Transplant outside into warm soil in May or June. Each plant may grow to a maximum height of 90cm (36"), so space plants 60 cm (24") apart. Use regular topsoil for growing, and avoid adding peat. Regular watering is vital, but don't let the plants sit in water.
Seed Specs: Usual seed life: 3 years.
