West Coast Seeds Lemon Cucumber Seeds
These attractive heirloom cucumbers are small and round with lemon coloured skins and mild, sweet, lime-green flesh. Lemon cucumbers are extremely productive and grow on long, vigorous vines that do well on the trellis or fence. 70 days, OP.
Approx. 35 seeds
Timing: Direct-seed or transplant. All types need really warm soil to germinate. If weather turns cool and rainy after planting, you might need to re-sow. Or start transplants in individual pots 3-4 weeks before setting out when the weather is warm. Optimal soil temperature for germination: 15-30°C (60-85°F).
Seeding: Sow around 2cm (1") deep, and keep moist.
Growing: Cucumbers love warm soil so use plastic mulch or a floating row cover to heat things up in the spring. Warm, well-drained soil is essential. Add dolomite lime and compost or well-rotted manure to the bed and 1/2 to 1 cup of balanced organic fertilizer mixed into the soil beneath each transplant.
Seed Specs: Canada No. 1 germination rate: 80%. Usual seed life: 3 years.
