Each regular round cilantro seed actually contains two seeds. Monogerm seeds have been split so that each only produces a single plant. This bolt resistant variety is full of flavour. The whole plant, from root to flowers, is useful in the kitchen.

Approx. 170 seeds

Timing: Direct sow in short rows from early spring to late summer at two week intervals. Cilantro produces a tap root, and does not respond well to transplanting.

Seeding: Sow 2cm (1") deep. Thin seedlings to stand 5-10cm (2-4") apart. Cilantro can be grown in deep containers.

Growing: Cilantro prefers cooler weather, and will bolt suddenly if the soil becomes too warm or too dry. Try growing some summer cilantro in partial shade to reduce this effect. Use leaves as needed or harvest whole plants, roots and all, at the first sign of bolting. Or allow plants to flower and harvest mature coriander seeds. If flowers stalks are neglected, cilantro may spread vigorously.

Seed Specs: Usual seed life: 3 years.
