Dark purple French filet beans grow slender and straight on upright, open plants. Velour's rich colour pops when mixed with yellow and green varieties. 12cm (5") beans hold well n the plant for an extended harvest. Resistance: Mosiac virus, Halo blight. 60 days, OP.

Approx. 120 seeds

Bush beans need warm soil to germinate, especially when using these untreated seeds. Do not plant in cold, wet soil!

Timing: Direct sow from late spring to early summer in warm soil. Optimal soil temperature for germination: 21-32°C (70-90°F). Seeds should sprout in 8-16 days.

Seeding: Sow seed 2-5cm (1-2") deep 5-10cm (2-4") apart, in rows 45cm (18") apart. Thin to 15-20cm (6-8") to allow for robust growth.

Growing: Well drained, warm soil is best. Raised beds help with both drainage and warmth. Use 1 cup of balanced organic fertilizer for each 3m (10') of row. Too much nitrogen is often the cause of poor pod set and delayed maturity. Bush beans prefer full sun exposure, but can tolerate partial shade with a reduced yield.

Seed Specs: Canada No. 1 germination standard: 80%. Usual seed life: 3 years.
